It’s an exciting time for electric vehicles. With millions of them on the road, and consistent growth in the market, there’s a push toward a future of reduced (and perhaps eliminated) emissions. Governments across the world see their importance for the environment and our climate, and policies match – with incentives and investment for both vehicles and charging infrastructure.
There’s strong development in the industry across multiple types of electric vehicle, but none more so than the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). Throw in the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV), and there’s plenty of opportunity.

Underpinning electric vehicles are the Electronic Control Units (ECU) that play a critical role in making them run.

The electric powertrain is made up of three main components:
• Electric Motor System
• Battery Management
• On-board Charging
There are controllers at work in each of these three parts of an electric vehicle – pieces of hardware coded with the necessary software to make them function.
And that’s where we come in.
